However, we stayed at the Novoli hotel for 3 nights, and had a completely different experience! The hotel is in a really bad area with lots of prostitutes right in front of the hotel every night, we could see them just below our window room , and there seems to be a lot of demand for their services, which was very disturbing!
Added to this, the hotel is on a really busy road and you can hear the traffic noise even with the windows closed. Out of 3 nights there, we only got one night of proper sleep! The walls are so paper thin that we could hear all the noise from the 2 rooms next to ours : a man singing opera till 1.
We had an extremely long drive the following day and badly needed to sleep, but with nobody at the hotel reception during the night, it was impossible to make a complaint. Lighting in the room was also not great, with no main light in the room, just side lights. While the owner was helpful enough with places to visit in Florence, he was very unhelpful with our reservation.
Only good points : decent car park, and next to the 22 bus that takes you to the heart of Florence. My wife and I stayed here for one night with our 3 year old child. Our rating represents our experience against our expectations.
